The works started Friday late evening with a within-day volume impact of 4 million cu m.

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): An unplanned outage at Norway's Skarv natural gas field is expected to cut output by 700,000 cu m Tuesday, Norwegian offshore gas operator Gassco said Monday morning.

The works started Friday late evening with a within-day volume impact of 4 million cu m. The event had been expected to last for a total duration of 24 to 36 hours from the start of the event at 2115 GMT Friday.

Monday's volume impact was revised to 5 million cu m, while Tuesday's within day-volume impact was placed at 0.7 million cu m compared with a previous estimate of zero, with the maintenance previously expected to end Monday, Gassco said.

Skarv, about 35 km southwest of the Norne field in the Norwegian Sea, produces gas which is transported to the Asgard Transport System before being sent for processing at Karsto.

The volume of Norwegian gas shipped to the European continental shelf was placed at 319 million cu m at 0944 GMT, Gassco said.
