SEATTLE (Oil Monster):Some Columbia Gas customers in South Point have reported an unusually strong smell of natural gas, the South Point mayor’s office says on Thursday.
The odor is coming from mercaptan, a chemical added to natural gas to provide its distinctive smell. Natural gas alone is odorless.
