Nigeria’s DPR Approves 37 Oil Well Drilling Proposals in 2018

Out of the 37 wells, 29 were categorized as development wells, while eight were grouped as appraisal wells.

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Nigeria’s Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has approved a total of 37 drilling well proposals.

According to the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the wells will increase Nigeria’s crude oil production by 189,850 barrels per day when fully commissioned.

Out of the 37 wells, 29 were categorized as development wells, while eight were grouped as appraisal wells.

The DPR also said it monitored 50 drilling activities (one exploratory, 10 appraisal, and 39 development wells) and 1,260.74(km2) quantum of 3D seismic data has been acquired out of the 3,272.11(km2) approved.”
