The Gasplasma® process is an innovative combination of two well-established technologies – gasification and plasma treatment, both of which have decades of proven commercial operation.

APP’s Gasplasma® technology converts waste and/or the outputs from any waste gasification process efficiently and economically into two products:

1. A clean, hydrogen-rich synthesis gas (syngas), which can be used to generate electricity directly in gas engines, turbines or fuel cells and can also be converted into substitute natural gas, hydrogen or liquid fuels;
2. An inert product (Plasmarok®) that has applications as a high value construction material

Our Technology

The core Gasplasma® technology is a two-stage advanced conversion process. It combines two long standing and well proven technologies (gasification and plasma conversion) in a unique configuration. After the removal of valuable recyclates, the Gasplasma® process treats a wide range of non-recyclable feedstocks produced from residual municipal solid waste and commercial/industrial waste converting them all into two high value outputs: a clean, high quality, energy-rich synthesis gas (syngas) and a solid, vitrified product (Plasmarok®) – each with multiple applications.
