The Torftech Group
The Torftech group of companies develop, licence and provide the TORBED Energy Technologies to a wide range of industries. Applications
The TORBED process reactor technologies are novel but well proven generic gas/solids contacting techniques used for processing materials and are protected by an insured portfolio of Patents and Trade Marks throughout the industrialised economies of the world. They were invented and developed as techniques to revolutionise the processing of minerals, foods, chemicals and wastes.
Technologies
Torftech's technologies provide novel and cost-effective means for processing a very wide variety of different materials. Typically, the technologies allow more rapid and accurate control of processes requiring gas-solid contact, often at higher temperatures than those experienced in conventional equipment.Test facilities
Torftech undertakes development and piloting of new processes in order to understand the application of its technologies to new applications.
The most extensive TORBED pilot facility is located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and provides a world class capability for the development of novel products and processes at a range of temperatures up to more than 1,500ºC.
In Europe, the facilities include a transportable low and high temperature 400mm diameter ceramic TORBED reactor complete with a post combustion chamber, heat exchanger and venturi scrubber.
