Weather Telematics underlying strength is in Telematics Technology which is the real-time collection, aggregation and communication of intelligent data collected from mobile vehicles via cellular (Wi-Fi) including GPS location and elevation data. In addition to collecting scientifically approved sensor data, for industry specifics applications, the technology layer connects to on board vehicle Can-bus networks to determine such attributes as vehicle tracking, speed, direction, time stamping, engine performance, fuel and emissions, brake and transmission activities and more.
The mobile telecommunications platform is based upon an open architecture design which offers complete flexibility and scalability of applications and sensor suites. All sensors are self calibrating, and can also be modified over the air in Real-Time. Data can be collected and transmitted on a second by second basis, or time cast to longer periods of sampling, determined by specific application requirements.
Installation and siting of all equipment is managed by a national team of automotive certified professionals who also provide ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the systems. Data quality assurance is also monitored in real-time. Should any sensor fall outside of a specified tolerance the unit is flagged for immediate review and repair.
