Founded over 30 years ago, Roux Associates’ work involves large complex environmental remediation projects, including Superfund sites, chemical and manufacturing plants, and petroleum refineries and distribution terminals. Today, we are an employee-owned company with over 280 environmental professionals in a variety of science and engineering disciplines, providing a mixture of traditional environmental site remediation and compliance services, as well as cutting-edge technical solutions.
Our strong history with major Superfund, RCRA, and other regulatory-driven projects is now being applied to some of the most complex Brownfield redevelopment projects in the United States. Moreover, our innovative Engineered Natural Systems (ENS®) technologies are being employed in remediation, stormwater runoff, and restoration projects in a cost-effective and sustainable fashion.
Other early projects included extensive studies of the impact of agricultural pesticide application on groundwater and surface water resources in 25 states, and investigations of contamination from leaking underground storage tanks at gasoline service stations in the northeast and California.
Through the 1990’s, Roux Associates expanded both geographically and in the scope of environmental services provided to include engineering design, construction management, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and expert witness services. During this period, the size of the firm increased rapidly and Roux Associates was twice named as one of America’s 500 fastest-growing private companies by Inc. Magazine. From 1996 to the present, Roux Associates has been listed as one of the Top 200 Environmental Consulting Firms by Engineering News Record.
From the late 1990’s to the present, Roux Associates has focused on developing cost saving, innovative solutions to complex environmental contamination problems. The firm has pioneered Engineered Natural Systems technologies, including a patented Constructed Treatment Wetland design and other award winning innovative remedial technologies. These technologies are utilized by Alcoa, BASF, ExxonMobil and other major corporations. In addition, Roux Associates has an extensive litigation support and expert witness practice.
