Bing Energy was founded in 2009 by a group of researchers, entrepreneurs and manufacturing professionals with the expressed goal of bringing state of the art, nano-technology benefits, to the fuel cell industry.
BEI’s advantage lies in the Intellectual Property developed over the past 5 years by one of its founders; James Zheng PhD. Bing Energy has acquired exclusive commercial rights of this patent pending technology and has developed the required manufacturing processes to convert the lab results achieved into a commercially viable set of products. This intellectual property advances the state of the art in terms of efficiency, durability and cost effectiveness.
Bing Energy has an exclusive commercialization agreement to use Florida State University professor Dr. Jim P. Zheng’s patented breakthrough nanotechnology to create a more commercially viable fuel cell. Building on the groundbreaking work of Dr. Ben Wang, inventor of buckypaper, Zheng has pioneered a fuel cell that incorporates a thin membrane composed of carbon nanotubes, reducing the need for expensive platinum that, until now, have made fuel cells too expensive to be widely marketed.
Bing Energy’s fuel cell innovations – based on breakthrough nano-technology – will lead to power generation that is lower in cost, more efficient and cleaner for the environment – all while bringing increased stability to the electric grid.
Mr. Chen has extensive experience in new product design, developing product lines and efficiently sourcing and manufacturing products for the consumer market. He has been instrumental in the growth of several privately owned firms and has 31 patents to his name. Mr. Chen has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA.
Mr. Hennek is an experienced business leader and entrepreneur who has managed high growth rates in manufacturing environments and has successfully founded, established and sold manufacturing companies. He has international business experience and has worked with both privately held firms and Fortune 500 companies. As an entrepreneur, he has landed Fortune 500 accounts and worked with them to bring to market many new products. Mr. Hennek has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul University.
Mr. Minardi is a serial entrepreneur who has started, grown and been partner in several companies. With a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in accounting (CPA), he has extensive background in cost control and taxation issues and has been a partner in several large development projects. Complimenting his financial background is deep experience in developing a company’s business model and strategic direction. Mr. Minardi is also active in the local community and has served as a board member for the Leon County Educational Facilities Authority.
Dr. Zheng is a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of Florida A&M University and Florida State University, working in the Center for Advanced Power Systems. He has received many awards, including the National Research Council Fellow (1993); Army Research & Development Achievement Award (1997); Faculty Research Award, NASA (1999); Engineering Faculty Research Award, FAMU-FSU College of Engineering (2001 & 2007); and Progress Energy Professional Development Award (2005). His primary fields of research have been in the fabrication and characterization of nano-materials and devices, energy storage and conversion devices, solid-state thin film deposition, photonic and chemical sensors and nonlinear optics. Dr. Zheng is the principle research scientist at Bing Energy International.
