Solar HOPE is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization, dedicated to providing renewable energy solutions to underdeveloped regions of the world. To find out more about Solar HOPE and what we are doing to support renewable energy in the developing world, please review our Mission, our Vision, and How We are Different.We believe that while it may appear more important to offer humanitarian aid in the form of food and/or medical assistance, in fact the ability to generate energy may be more critical than food and medical aid because there would be much less need for outside-supplied food and medicine once those in need have the energy they need to cultivate their own food or care for their own people in more modern medical facilities. Historically, energy has been the driving force for all major shifts in human development including the Industrial Revolution, but it seems that many of us have forgotten that. Instead of putting an enormous emphasis on developing renewable energy sources, world leaders seem to be more concerned about fighting for the inevitably disappearing fossil fuels. From this point of view, giving the poor and underdeveloped regions the means to establish their independence and putting them on the track towards sustainable lifestyle could ultimately further accelerate the €œwheels of progress€ and spark worldwide period of political, social, and economical prosperity.

The Foundation €œSOLAR HOPE€ aspires to create a giant humanitarian effort to bring renewable energy to underdeveloped regions of the world.The Foundation SOLAR HOPE will strategically partner with universities in the US and other developed countries, and with local government agencies in underdeveloped countries of the world to bring renewable energy to schools, hospitals, and similar institutions in rural areas.The Foundation Solar Hope aims to reach an unparalleled goal for a non-profit organization of installing 1 GW of renewable power in Africa by year 2020 through humanitarian effort of the highest proportion. The immediate goal is to bring 1 MW of solar power to rural areas of Tanzania by year 2014.
