Installing solar onto a roof adds to the roof’s basic function.  The roof becomes a power-generating support platform for the solar array.  The roof must support and maintain the long-term power production of the solar array, while keeping the building weathertight.   Installing solar arrays onto an existing roof creates a completely new set of technical challenges such as what to do with the shorter roof remaining service life  verses the 25-to-30 year solar power production and financial life.  SolarPower Restoration Systems has developed and patented new solar applications and technology solutions needed to resolve the service life imbalance between roofs and solar,  we call SolarSeal Technologies™. Our proprietary appication systems, called SolarSeal Technologies™ creates a new weatherproof roof surface and extends the roof service life by combining liquid applied roof systems with flexible thin film photovoltaics modules (PV) creating a new class of photovoltaic (PV) and PV/Solar-Thermal building surfaces known as Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).   We license SolarSeal Technologies™ to leading solar developers, contractors, building product and solar module manufacturers.
