In 1948 Spalding Gas was founded by Ed Whatley when he opened his office in a back alley of Griffin. Answering the phone in the mornings and making deliveries in afternoon with one small delivery truck, he grew the business with attentive personal service. Later his wife, Dollie, and two brothers, Alton and Winston, joined him as the business expanded rapidly in the post World War II economic expansion.

Today Ed and Dollie’s son Darrell and his staff serve over 7000 families and businesses in 15 counties in South Metro and North Central Georgia from two locations; 415 West Solomon Street in Griffin and 26 Racetrack Road in McDonough.

Spalding Gas is a full service propane company. Not only will we provide you with propane in a timely and courteous manner but we will provide you with all the support and auxiliary services that many other propane suppliers cannot. Spalding Gas is a Dave Lennox Premier Dealer and has been a Lennox Heating and Cooling dealer for over 25 years.  We are also a full service state licensed plumbing contractor.
