Petro-Hunt, L.L.C. and its related entities are owned and operated by the William Herbert Hunt Family and are commonly referred to as Petro-Hunt, a privately held independent oil and gas company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Through Petro-Hunt, its subsidiaries and affiliates are actively engaged in various industries with the primary focus being the exploration and production of oil and gas worldwide. The company traces its roots to the 1920s, when the legendary H.L. Hunt entered the oil and gas business in El Dorado, Arkansas, and later played an active role in development of the East Texas Oil Field from the drill test of the Daisy Bradford #3. Through the years, Petro-Hunt has created separate stand-alone companies in various sectors of the energy industry, some of which have become the foundation for and are substantial portions of publicly traded companies.
