Norstar Petroleum Inc

Norstar Petroleum Inc. is a family owned oil and gas exploration and production company founded as a Colorado C-Corporation in 1989 by Per Burchardt. Norstar operates around 190 oil and gas wells and is an active driller in Kansas. We also have non operated interests in another 125 wells in Oklahoma and Ohio. We take pride in being a small company that employs the highest level of technical sophistication to our exploration decisions. Norstar has been headquartered in the Denver area since its inception, and maintains an affiliated office in Wichita, Kansas.Norstar started out as an active acquisition and enhanced recovery company until 2001, when it started to participate in select drilling opportunities. Since being certified as a Kansas Operator in 2005, Norstar has steadily increased its drilling activity. In 1995, Norstar acquired a 50% interest in C.H. Todd, Inc., a Wichita based company. Norstar and C.H. Todd continue to partner up in most of their respective projects. C.H. Todd has interest in about 70 non-operated wells in Kansas, Oklahoma and Wyoming. In 2005, Norstar started a wholly owned company named Norstar Operating, LLC for the purpose of exploring and developing some oil and gas discoveries in Ohio. Norstar previously held ownership in wells in Wyoming, New Mexico, Michigan, and Illinois, as well as various coal bed methane projects and processing plants.

Norstar performs engineering and land services for its own account, for C.H. Todd, and for Norstar Operating. Our partners in C.H. Todd are David B. Pauly, a well-respected field completion engineer, and Gordon E. Stockemer, a CPA with his own accounting firm in Wichita, Kansas. We utilize contract geology, geophysical and field pumpers on a regular basis, and legal help on a part time basis.

Norstar enjoys long established relationships with both private and industry partners who invest alongside the corporation in new projects. We take pride in not being a large company, but a credible and technical family owned company. We strive for a mix of internally generated and outside derived projects, and participate in both operated and non-operated projects.
