How long will 50 gallons last?
That is almost impossible to determine. It depends on how well the house is insulated, how high the thermostat is set, and the condition of the ductwork. A standard 85,000 BTU furnace uses .75 gallon per hour. If the furnace runs an average of 1/3 of a day (8 hours) it would burn 6 gallons per day. Although we have some customers that use as much as 10 to 12 gallons per day.
