Lansing Ice and Fuel

We are a local, family operated business that has been around since 1906.

We don’t cut ice out of the Grand River anymore, but we do still provide thousands of mid-Michigan residents with home and vehicle fuel year-round.  Our team is dedicated to providing safe, high quality services, at a competitive price. When you work with Lansing Ice & Fuel you directly help your local community and residents by keeping your dollars local, versus sending them out of state to a national corporation.

Our History

Lansing Ice & Fuel was founded in 1906 by Gottlieb Ruetter.  In the early years ice was cut from the Grand River and delivered by horse and buggy along with fuel to residents and businesses.

Today

Now, over 110 years later, Lansing Ice & Fuel remains family-owned and operated by 4th and 5th generations of the Reutter family.  Although the types of services we provide and how we deliver them has changed, the core values and dedication to service remain the same.  Lansing Fuel & Ice strives to deliver products and services that will meet our customers fueling needs today and into the future.  We are dedicated to providing our products and services safely, timely, and for a fair and competitive price.

Community Involvement

We can delivery better service and more competitive rates than the national propane delivery companies; and with our company it stays local.  We regularly help local organizations such as: School athletics, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Camp Highfields, Energy Banks, Rescue Mission, food banks, and more.

PROPANE DELIVERY

At Lansing Ice & Fuel we pride ourself on great customer service, competitive prices, and most of all, our safety record.  We were pioneers in the fuel delivery business and have some of the best in the business on our team.  We are not about fine print contracts or coming in with a low introductory price just to raise pricing later. Our pricing is open, transparent, and easy to understand.

Fuel Oil Services

Although Fuel Oil is not as popular as it once was Lansing Ice & Fuel is still here to meet the needs of many Lansing area residents and businesses that require fuel oil for their home or business.  We have the capacity to deliver anything from 150 gallons through full transport loads.  When we work with our fuel oil customers we typically work in one of the following ways:

Auto fill service 

Where we proactively keep an eye on your normal fuel oil needs and delivery to you before you run out.

Budget Program

Based on your past or estimated usage we can design a payment plan that spreads the cost over 10 to 12 payments. Keeping your monthly payment predictable and helping you avoid any surprise costs.

Industrial lubrication Products

Lansing Ice and Fuel works with large companies to individuals to fulfill their specific lubrication and cooling needs. Many industrial machines, equipment and vehicles require grease, oils, and lubricants with specific specifications to ensures that they run effectively, stay cool, stay safe, and keep wear to a minimum.  In some situations your needs may require an exact brand and specification that we can have available for you to pick-up or delivered directly to your business location. In other situations we can review your specifications and suggest a suitable product that may have the same efficacy but be more cost effective for your business.  Many products are available in sizes ranging from small tubes and quarts to full 55 gallon drums.
