Coyne Oil Corporation has been meeting the residential, agricultural, construction and commercial fueling needs of Central Michigan since 1930. We pride ourselves on fair prices, quality service and certified fueling experts to keep your home and business safe. We have locations in Mt. Pleasant, Cadillac, Clare, Evart and Merrill. We also operate the Pickard Street Citgo station in front of our main office in Mt. Pleasant.

Our Story

The Coyne family has made customer service a top priority since 1930. Lorne Coyne founded the company and led it until 1954, when his son, Dan Coyne, took leadership. In March 1976, Coyne Oil Corporation was born when Dan’s sons, Dave and Mark, took over the company. Since then, Coyne Oil Corporation has been growing; expanding locations and services throughout Central Michigan.  our story altIn 1989, a 42,000-square-foot warehouse was added to house the numerous petroleum products. The corporation also entered the propane market at this time, forming Coyne Propane. In 1990, the Mt. Pleasant location added a bulk tank station and a commercial fueling facility. The Pickard Street Citgo Convenience store was also added to the Mt. Pleasant location in 1995. In 2005, the propane division expanded to the Cadillac area. In 2010, the company grew again with the purchase of Van Andel storage locations in Tustin and in Fife Lake. In 2011, the business acquired Stanley Fuel Gas and Oil. This acquisition brought new locations in Clare and Evart, and also expanded propane storage capabilities with locations in Harrison and Gladwin. In 2013, Central Michigan Propane of Merrill was acquired with storage locations in Ashley, Breckenridge and Hemlock. In order to better serve the increasing customer base, Coyne Propane established a storage location in Coleman in 2014. This storage location brought the company’s total propane storage capacity to over 420,000 gallons! These storage locations allow Coyne Propane to provide propane supply to their customers in a timely worry-free manner.   Coyne Oil & Propane is committed to providing high-quality products at fair prices to all customers. Affiliations

Coyne Oil & Propane is proud to serve and actively participate throughout communities in Isabella, Mecosta, Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Gratiot, Gladwin, Clare, Osceola and Wexford counties. We support many community events, and many of our employees serve on boards and committees within local groups and activities such as 4-H, home builders associations, fair boards, Boy Scouts, church groups, Kiwanis and Lions clubs.

Community Involvement

Coyne Oil & Propane and its employees are enthusiastic participants in numerous events in the area. These events include the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival, Clare Irish Festival, Home Builders Association, Toys for Tots, Midland Balloon Festival and the Pillars of the Community Stadium Improvement Project. Pillars of the Community is an organization dedicated to raising money to improve Community Memorial Stadium in Mt. Pleasant.

Installation and Testing

The proper installation and testing of your propane system components are of the utmost importance in providing you with the highest standards in safety and efficiency. All Coyne Oil & Propane supply systems are installed and tested by installation and service technicians certified under the National Propane Gas Certification Program (CETP).  Once your system installation is complete, our service technician will perform a Gas Appliance Safety (GAS) Check. This is a nationally-recognized certified safety inspection program that requires a thorough and comprehensive examination of the entire system, including the gas system and all appliances connected to it.

Commercial

Coyne Oil & Propane can handle your business requirements for propane and fuel, from fork lift cylinders to space and water heating, to temporary heating needs. We do it all.  Businesses with vehicle fleets can use our Pacific Pride commercial fueling station – located behind the Pickard Street Citgo station at 910 W. Pickard St. of Mount Pleasant, MI – for all fueling needs. To make it easy for you and your business, we accept Pacific Pride fueling cards. These cards can be used at thousands of locations throughout the United States and Canada. Our fueling station is well maintained, conveniently located and offers competitive pricing.

Gasoline

Coyne Oil offers all grades of gasoline (87, 89, 93 octane as well as REC 90) for commercial or personal use at our Pickard Street Citgo. We also transport fuel to you via tank wagon delivery to your home or business.  We strongly believe in the recreational fuel (REC 90) for all your recreational and home/garden equipment because it does not contain alcohol which can be harmful to your equipment. Diesel / Kerosene

Diesel fuel is liquid fuel designed for diesel engines. These are engines whose fuel ignition does not involve a spark, but compression of the inlet air mixture and fuel injection. These engines are found to be more efficient than gasoline engines and the prices of diesel fuels are more stable than gasoline. We offer all varieties including dyed, clear and premium diesel fuels.  Kerosene is a combustible hydrocarbon liquid often used as a fuel as well as for household purposes. There are many industrial uses for kerosene, including powering jet engines.

Coyne Oil Corporation – Lubricants Division

The Coyne Family has been in the lubricants business for many years. Presently, our major lubricants supplier is Petro–Canada. It is a major oil and gas company and a leader in the Canadian Petroleum Industry. The company is actively involved in the exploration and development of oil and gas. The conversion of crude oil into refined products includes gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, asphalt and lubricants. The Lubricants Division of Petro-Canada produces exceptionally high-quality lubricants, specialty fluids and grease products.  The company also produces VHVI ultra pure, synthetic base fluids.
