Blueox Energy was founded in the 1940’s when George Paye of Oxford NY started a successful coal business. As the company transitioned from coal to fuel oil, it was purchased by Ken Thompson who renamed it Thompson Fuel Service.  Thompson supplied the local region with coal, kerosene, and fuel oil before being acquired by the Emerson family in 1965.  In the decades that followed, The Emersons took on a capable partner, Neil Bartle, and the team embarked on an expansion into new counties, the propane business, and a chain of convenience stores.  Along the way, they renamed the business Blueox.  The name and logo have become recognizable symbols in the local area and we strive to uphold our brand in the communities we serve.  Our core values today are no different than they were in the 1960’s when David L. Emerson instilled the following: exhibit strong character and always put customers first.
