Proctor Gas as it is today was founded back in the spring of 1966, when Match Taranovich, the son of immigrants, bought the propane and appliance side of Proctor Coal Company from George D. Johnson. With his wife, young son, and only two employees, Match set off to provide the best propane sales, installation, and service in the greater Proctor, Vermont area – and that’s just what he did! Over 40 years later, Proctor Gas remains a family-owned and -operated business serving Addison, Rutland, Bennington, and Windsor counties.  Although much has changed in that time, one thing remains the same: we put our customers first, and offer the best products and the best services at competitive prices. Our number one goal is to make sure that each and every customer is satisfied and receives the support they need, every time. We attribute our success as a company to our dedication to customer comfort, safety, and satisfaction, whether we’re selling and installing a water heater or providing propane services.
