Vine Oil & Gas

5800 Granite Pkwy #550, Plano, Texas, United States | Oil & Gas

Vine Oil and Gas is a private company established in 2014 in partnership with the Blackstone Group to acquire high-return natural gas assets in the prolific Haynesville Basin.  Today, we hold an average operated working interest of approximately 80% in 175,000 effective net acres in the core of the Haynesville Basin - which was acquired from affiliates of Shell in November 2014 - and operate approximately 780 MMcfd of production across Sabine, DeSoto and Red River parishes in North Louisiana. Our acreage is prospective for dual zone development from the Haynesville and Mid-Bossier shales, two of the most prolific natural gas resources plays in North America. We have been among the most active drillers in the basin since 2015.  The company was founded by our President and CEO, Eric Marsh. Alongside him is the best technical team in the industry, a group of veteran oil & gas executives with a long track record of best-in-class operations and many years of Haynesville experience stemming back to the earliest wells drilled in the basin.  Our management team has extensive experience operating in U.S. conventional and shale resource plays and have collectively managed the drilling and completion of over 1,000 horizontal onshore oil & gas wells while continually implementing new drilling, completion and production technologies.  Our strategy is to draw upon our management teams experience to economically grow reserves, production and cash flow and thus enhance the value of our assets, all while upholding an unwavering commitment to a safety first culture and prudent financial management.

Commitment

We are committed to operating in a manner that protects the welfare of our people, the environment, wildlife and the local communities that surround us. Every operational decision we make hinges on safety, and this principle is at the core of our values framework.  We maintain an unwavering commitment to a safety-first culture. It begins by first vetting our contractors to ensure they meet our strict standards. Through the utilization of a technology solution with a third-party Vine partner, we are able to access health and safety data in order to score contractors and compare them against a peer set to help us select the contractors that meet our criteria.  We then invest time upfront to ensure all personnel that enter a field work location undergo a site orientation to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety expectations, and they are required to participate in related in-service meetings periodically thereafter. We monitor job sites to ensure compliance with all safety protocols. We also foster a culture of open communications that encourages anyone to report suspect practices or violations of company policies without fear of retaliation. When it comes to safety, we dont just say it, we mean it.  We are focused on producing clean, affordable and reliable energy while minimizing our footprint as much as possible. We can accomplish this through prudent strategies, such as, among other factors, drilling wells from common pad sites and utilizing water containment systems to reduce our use of Louisianas freshwater reservoirs.  Vine strives to maintain one of the lowest incident rates in the industry. In 2018, we realized our safest year on record: our employees and contractors logged over 3.9 million hours in the field, and the lost-time incident rate was 0.0 per 200,000 manhours worked compared to 0.21 per 200,000 manhours worked in 2017, and the total recordable incident rate was 0.21 per 200,000 manhours worked compared to 0.52 per 200,000 manhours worked in 2017.  In our short history, we are extremely proud of our stellar safety and environmental record, but we dont stop there; we are continually evaluating methods to reduce occupational and environmental risks with the goal of having zero incidents. Our outstanding employees are always mindful of this target and they fully align with and embrace the companys vision to uphold our most valued tenet: Above All, Safety Matters Most.

Operations

We are entirely focused on developing natural gas from our 175,000 net effective acres from the Haynesville Basin located in Northwest Louisiana where we have exposure to two substantial pay zones: the Haynesville and Mid-Bossier. Both are among the highest-quality, highest-return, dry-gas shales in North America and they share highly analogous properties: over-pressured reservoir, consistent geology, high-porosity, permeability and thickness, all of which underpin predictable and industry-leading well performance.  At Vine we believe passion, discipline and determination are the tenets that build long-term value. Of tantamount importance is the phrase coined by CEO Eric Marsh three years ago, which became Vines identity and purpose: We Do One Thing and We Do It Well.
