Allens Oil and Propane

It all started in 1919 when Harry T. Allen, Sr. opened Allen Coal Company in Mt. Holly, NJ to provide reliable energy to the community.  After only a few years in Mt. Holly, Harry decided to move his business to Main Street in the village of Vincentown which was a thriving commercial center of South Jersey.  At this present time, our main office is still located on Main Street in Vincentown. In the 1940s, Harry T. Allen, Sr. and his son Harry T., Jr. started to deliver home heating oil along with coal. In 1964, the business was passed along to Harry, Jr. In 1977, Harry’s sons, Ronald L. Allen and Roger P. Allen, purchased the company where Ronald served as the third generation company president while his brother, Roger, was vice president.  With Ronald’s dedication, the business continued to grow. In 1991, Ronald decided to add a full-service propane division, at which time the name went from Allen’s Oil to Allen’s Oil and Propane, Inc. As the propane division grew, it was time to expand. In 1994, the Hammonton, NJ office and storage facility was opened with the ability to store 205,000 gallons of propane. Since that time, Allen’s has opened two more storage facilities: one in Elmer, NJ (2005) which has 108,000 gallons of propane storage and another in Southampton, NJ (2008) which has 120,000 gallons of storage.  In June 2001, Ronald purchased Roger’s share of the company.  Keeping with the family tradition, Ronald now runs the company with his wife, Sandra, and their two sons Douglas and Jason. As of today, Allen’s Oil & Propane Inc. has a customer base of over 10,000 customers and continues to grow every day.  Thanks to Harry T. Allen, Sr., who had the insight on what the community needed, Allen’s Oil & Propane, Inc. has prospered and hopes to continue to carry on the family owned and operated tradition into the fourth generation and beyond.

PROPANE

Propane can be used for fueling many home appliances safely and efficiently. At Allen’s Oil & Propane, we offer reliable propane delivery for your home heating, water heating, clothes drying, cooking, pool heating, and other home energy needs. Propane is an eco-friendly energy source; as a burned fuel, it meets all clean air energy standards put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. Our technicians perform professional propane tank and heating system installations, and we offer services such as automatic fuel delivery for your convenience and peace of mind.

Automatic Propane Delivery

When you sign up for our automatic propane fuel delivery service, we monitor your account based upon your previous history and elapsed degree days. You do not have to be as concerned when it comes to monitoring your system’s inventory level. We automatically deliver fuel to your home when you need it, letting you rest easier throughout the winter.

Will Call Propane Delivery

Our will call propane ordering option is best for customers who prefer to monitor their own propane usage. Please call us when your tank gauge reads 25%. Will call deliveries are only dispatched on a regularly scheduled route and any out of route deliveries are subject to a $50 delivery charge and a $50 leak test charge. We at Allen’s provide will call customers with outstanding service so that they can get their delivery within five working days of order.

Installations

We provide many options for residential and commercial propane customers when it comes to selecting the right tank for your needs. Our staff will help you every step of the way from permits, location of tank, final hook up, converting appliances, and performing Gas Check. Every propane system installed or hooked up by Allen’s Oil & Propane has been installed in accordance with NFPA Pamphlet #54, NFPA Pamphlet #58, and any applicable state or local codes.  Propane is sold as a liquid (U.S. gallon). Your residential, and most commercial appliances, consume propane in its vapor form. Propane vapor reaches your appliances through your propane gas system. When your propane system was installed, it was determined to be 100% safe and leak-free. Absolutely no alterations or modifications should be made to your propane system by anyone other than an Allen’s Oil & Propane employee or authorized personnel.  Every new Allen’s Oil & Propane customer will have a Gas Check or, in other words, a leak test performed when a new propane system is installed or when we hook up to an existing system. The Gas Check includes all connections inside the tank, the regulators, copper line outside, and all piping inside the house. The test only takes 10 minutes and we provide you with documented results that are also keep for our records.

HEATING OIL

Upgrading your heating oil equipment to a more energy-efficient system pays for itself over a short period of time, adds value to a home, and provides more efficient residential warmth than gas.  At Allen’s Oil and Propane, we do all we can to be sure your oil heating system is operating at peak efficiency. All of our home heating oil is treated with an additive that keeps the fuel more stable and helps keep heater components clean.

You do not have to think about monitoring your system’s inventory level. We automatically deliver fuel to your home when you need it, assisting you and your fueling throughout the winter.
