Kemgas is a family owned and operated business proudly servicing the Mendocino Coast since 1936. We offer propane delivery to Mendocino, Lake, and Sonoma Counties. Servicing a market area from Laytonville to North Santa Rosa inland and Westport to Stewarts Point on the coast for all your residential, commercial and industrial propane needs.  During harsh winter conditions, you need to know that your propane company will deliver. We have the largest propane supply in the region, with storage tanks strategically located along the Mendocino, Lake, and Sonoma Counties, which means you never need to go without - especially when you need it most!  After 80+ years supplying propane to our friends and neighbors here on the Mendocino Coast and in Lake & Sonoma County, we know a thing or two about making our customers happy - good prices, fast and reliable service and real live human beings to talk to if you have a question.

Propane delivery

We offer four types of propane delivery service. In order to guarantee delivery, requests must be made 48 hours prior to your scheduled route day.

• If you have a gate it is required to be open, or a combo / clicker must be provided.

• If you have dogs, please have them put away on the scheduled route day.

Regular Delivery

This is the most convenient type of service. We will monitor the propane tank for you. We fill it up when the tank is between 20% - 30% capacity. Over time we learn your usage requirements and schedule your propane delivery accordingly. (This service requires a credit check) 

Will Call - Regular

You monitor the tank. When it is around 20% - 30% of capacity, call us 1-2 days in advance of your scheduled route day and request a delivery. You then receive a bill in the mail for the propane. (This service requires a credit check)

Propane Storage Tanks Rentals, Maintenance and Leak Testing – Along with regular propane deliveries, our experienced and well-trained technicians can help you with any commercial or residential propane needs you have, such as tank installation, maintenance and leak testing.

Our mission is to provide propane in a way that is safe for you and our employees. Unfortunately, there may be times when you unexpectedly run out of gas. This could create an unsafe environment for both you and our delivery drivers – especially if these emergency deliveries occur late at night. Also, our drivers keep regular routes to maximize their efficiency and minimize operating costs, which keeps our propane reasonably priced for you.

Advantages of Propane

• Propane water heaters generally cost 30% less to operate than electric ones—or 60% less if you use a tankless propane water heater.
  Overall, propane tankless water heaters produce about 50% fewer carbon emissions than electric water heaters with a storage tank.
• Propane water heaters can produce twice as much hot water as electric units–in the same amount of time!
• Most high-efficiency propane furnaces feature two-stage gas burners and variable speed motors to deliver all the warm air you need, no matter how cold it gets. That’s why, on the coldest of cold Minnesota nights, propane-heated homes are much warmer than those that rely solely on electric heat.
• With a clean-burning, high-efficiency propane furnace, less than 10% of fuel is wasted in the combustion process. In comparison, more than two-thirds of the energy used by a power plant to generate and transmit electricity is wasted.
