Back in the early part of 1991, Daryl South had a dream and a goal to start a propane company here in Helena Montana. Having had a number of years of experience in the industry working for another propane company he began his venture in April of 1991. The company started out as a small, two man operation with only a hand full of customers. But because of some very dedicated people in the Helena area, the company soon began to grow. The business started out in a small rented building but within the first year, had already outgrown the facility. Again, Daryl had a dream to have his own building and build it to accommodate the business specifically. So began a construction process that ended up with a grand opening in August of 2000. The company by then had grown from 2 employees to 10. Montana Propane is in fact the only locally owned and operated propane company in Helena and the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on customer service with dedicated employees and service personnel who are trained and certified to take care of all your propane needs.
