George E. Kuhn & Company

In 1908 William Henry Kuhn founded Kuhn & Studybaker a farm implement company in Miamisburg, Ohio. In the early 30s Kuhn began selling propane as a way to solidify his appliance business. Years later William Henrys son George E. Kuhn purchased the company, and expanded into home, industrial, and commercial propane sales. Currently George E. Kuhn & Company is spearheaded by Thomas M. Kuhn, continuing three generations of family leadership, and servicing over 3,000 customers in six counties throughout southwest Ohio.

Since 1908 George E. Kuhn & Company has served Southwest Ohio and surrounding areas with full service propane delivery. We strive to give you the lowest price possible with the highest level of customer service around. We are a 106 year-old, third-generation, family owned business located in historic downtown Germantown, Ohio.  I am very proud that as my children begin working here that they will become the fourth generation to own and operate our familys business.  Kuhn & Co. was founded by my grandfather William Kuhn in 1908 in Miamisburg, Ohio.  Grandpa and the business survived through many difficulties in our first fifty years.  From the Great 1913 Flood to the Great Depression of 1929 to a fire in 1946 that destroyed our store in Germantown.

Grandpa had four stores in the area but only could save one through the depression.  Our store in Germantown was opened in 1917 and is our headquarters still today.  We are already planning our 100th anniversary of our Germantown store.  It is hard to believe it is less than three years away.
