• The federal government allows you to deduct 30% of your solar system costs off your federal taxes through an investment tax credit (ITC). If you do not expect to owe taxes this year, you can roll over your credit to the following year.
• Home and businesses located in the Tennessee Valley Authoritys service area can join the Green Power Providers Program and receive the base rate plus $.12 cents per kWh for all of their solar electricity production as a credit on their monthly electrical bill. In addition, TVA pays $1,000 to customers who install grid-tied solar electric systems
