Vitus Energy

Vitus Energy is the holding company for Vitus’s marine and terminal operations. The core of our business is managing the delivery of fuel from international and domestic sources to a wide variety of customers in Alaska. Our customers include marine and shore-based distributors, utilities, and aviation companies.

History

Vitus Marine was formed by and is managed by an experienced group of fuel distribution experts.  The Vitus management team has over a 100-year combined experience in Alaska fuel deliveries.  The company’s mission is to provide unique solutions for energy and transportation needs in Alaska.  In 2009 the company partnered with Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) in the construction of two articulating tug and barge sets designed specifically for coastal operations in Alaska.  Vitus also charters other marine assets for the delivery of fuel sourced domestically and internationally.

Shallow Draft Fuel Delivery

The Vitus fleet consists of equipment specialized for the challenging environment of Alaska. We provide service along the Alaska Coast from Sand Point to the North Slope, and out of the Aleutian chain, as well as the Yukon, Kuskokwim, and Bristol Bay river systems.  Our primary equipment are ATB (articulating tug and barge) combinations which travel faster and are better able to handle the rough Alaska weather than traditional tug and barges.  Our fuel barges are also configured to handle dry cargo on board at the same time which allows us to provide fuel and freight services to meet our customer’s needs.

Ocean Direct Fuel Delivery

Vitus Marine charters barges and ships to provide bulk fuel deliveries to deep draft ports in Alaska such as Dutch Harbor, Dillingham, Naknek, Bethel, and Nome. Vitus Marine has supply source through the Pacific Ocean including Washington, Cook Inlet Alaska, Russia, South Korea, and Singapore.  Vitus’s flexibility in delivery size and product source enable a variety of supply options for our customers.

 Frieght

Vitus Marine provides inter-port freight deliveries in Alaska’s West Coast and River systems.   Typically Vitus will load customers freight in Dutch Harbor, Dillingham, Bethel, or Nome and deliver to any number of smaller locations.  For custom freight delivery solutions Vitus can be chartered to move a customer’s freight to between almost any two ports in Western Alaska, including combining fuel and freight.

Vitus Terminals

Vitus Terminals specializes in the storage, sale and distribution of bulk petroleum. With an experienced staff of fuel experts, the company provides wholesale supply to customers in Bethel, Kotzebue, and Dillingham. Kotzebue, Bethel and Dillingham service includes a fleet of delivery trucks and retail gasoline station. Vitus Terminals works with customer to provide custom solutions in Alaska’s challenging environment.
