Crestone Peak Resources is a top producer of oil and natural gas in the Denver-Julesburg Basin (DJ Basin). WHO WE ARE

Crestone Peak Resources is an independent energy company focusing on the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of oil and gas reserves in the Rocky Mountain Region.  Formed in 2016, Crestone’s team of nearly 200 energy professionals has significant operating experience and deep ties to communities in Colorado, and is committed to operating safely and environmentally responsibly.  Crestone’s acreage is located in the Greater Wattenberg Field of Colorado’s Denver-Julesburg Basin. The Company is headquartered in Denver and has an office in Firestone.

VISION

Crestone is the premier oil and gas operator in the DJ Basin with an unwavering commitment to superior operations, safety and community engagement. We empower our employees to produce energy safely and responsibly.

VALUES

We are committed to realizing value from our DJ Basin assets in the most efficient, safe and environmentally responsible way possible.  Our people are our greatest asset, and empowering them to do their best work is pivotal to our success.  We deliver on our promise to operate in a way that is transparent and respectful of nearby communities. We believe in an open, two-way dialogue in which we provide clear information, listen to feedback and are accountable for our actions.  We are proud of the work we do and equally proud to call Colorado home. The oil and gas industry is pivotal to our state’s economy, and we must do our part as a responsible operator.

A COMMITMENT TO HEALTH AND SAFETY

Our policy is to go beyond what is required, to ensure we operate in the safest, most efficient way possible. Colorado is a national leader in strict regulations for the oil and natural gas industry and we work closely with and are regulated by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) to ensure our operations remain in compliance with state regulatory requirements. Health and safety are our top priorities, and we’ve built a culture that takes a disciplined approach to maintaining safe environments, proactively identifying and addressing issues, and continually training our employees.  We aim to operate safely, responsibly, efficiently and with minimal impact on local communities across all stages of our operations, while acting as good stewards for the land, air and water. This is a priority for us because as Coloradans, we value these natural assets, and we live here, too.

UTILIZING THE LATEST MITIGATION TECHNIQUES AND TECHNOLOGIES

We realize energy production has temporary impacts in neighboring communities. We strive to minimize these by working safely, efficiently and quickly to finish drilling and completions at each of our sites, while complying with all state and local requirements. We explore new and utilize several mitigation strategies based on our experience in the DJ Basin, the latest technologies and industry best practices. We are consistently monitoring our operations and remain committed to continual improvement and to adjusting operations as needed to minimize our impact on nearby residents.  For example, to minimize our footprint and maximize efficiencies, we’ve constructed ‘The Hub’ as a central gathering facility serving several well sites. Located near Erie, The Hub serves as a single location for oil and gas collection and processing equipment. This facility allows Crestone to reduce the typical pad size in the Erie area by as much as 70 percent and remove many of the emission sources from the actual well pads.
