RimRock Oil & Gas, LP is an independent oil and gas company focused on the acquisition and development of North American oil and gas assets. Founded in 2016 and currently based in Denver, Colorado, RimRock is a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus.  RimRock is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Fraser who brings decades of upstream oil and gas experience across the United States and Canada. Mr. Fraser has a proven track record of creating, building and leading value-added initiatives at leading energy companies including Talisman Energy, where he led the North American shale division, as well as Chesapeake Energy and Burlington Resources, where he served in executive roles focused on the upstream sector.

Operations

RimRock Oil and Gas is a privately held exploration and production company with a corporate office in Denver, CO. We are focused on acquiring and exploiting North American onshore assets, primarily in the Bakken Resource Play in the Williston Basin. Formed in 2016, RimRock is backed by an equity commitment from our financial partner Warburg Pincus. In 2017, we acquired operations of over 100 producing wells with total land holdings of 30,000 acres, all located within the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in Dunn County, North Dakota. The vast majority of our holdings are operated where we can apply state of the art technologies to optimize asset performance, be a low cost operator, and create value for our investors. The leadership team has over 150 years of combined industry experience and a proven track record of acquiring and developing large scale plays.  RimRock is committed to safe operations and being a valued partner in communities in which we operate.
