Center Coal Co

Center Coal Co., formerly Schulte Coal, is a coal crushing facility located in Center, North Dakota.  Owner Glenn Baranko is also the owner of Baranko Bros., Inc. which is a Dickinson, ND based earthwork company.  Center Coal Co. provides both stoker and lump coal to many customers throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Canada.  Our coal is also shipped all over the United States in sizes ranging from zip-lock bags for samples up to semi-truck loads.  Center Coal Co. has the option for customers to either pick up their own loads of coal or we can also make arrangements for delivery.

Center Coal Co. provides stoker and lump coal to customers throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Canada. Our coal has been shipped all over the USA for R&D work, from sizes as small as zip lock bags, up-to semi loads. As a customer of Center Coal, you can either pick up your own load, or we can make arrangements for delivery.

Trucking

Center Coal Co. has semi-trucks routinely running in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.  We have both hopper bottom and live bottom trailers for delivery of coal.  We would entertain delivery to almost anyone and you can call or contact us for freight rates.

Safety Coordinator

Shawn Hayden is our full time safety coordinator on staff at Baranko Bros. Inc. He is responsible for implementing our safety policies and ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all company employees and subcontractors. To ensure safety on the jobsite, he performs onsite equipment and worksite inspections and audits. He also hosts weekly onsite safety meetings for the employees. He oversees all Health, Safety, and Environmental issues pertaining to our jobs. Safety is of utmost importance to us in order to send each employee home in the same condition or better than when he/she arrived at work.

Training

Our employees receive initial 24 hour MSHA training with an annual 8 hour MSHA refresher as required by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. They also receive annual training consisting of H2S training, First Aid and CRP training, Respiratory Fit Testing, and Hearing Conservation Testing. All hired employees receive the OSHA 10 hour Construction Course. This is required by several of our clients who are members of the North Dakota Energy Coalition for Contractor Safety {ECCS).  As of January 1, 2003, our safety plan has 100% approval by National Compliance Management Service Inc. (NCMS). NCMS is a third party auditor for ECCS. Employees also receive annual orientation and hazard training for certain clients such as Dakota Gasification Company, Falkirk Mine, Great River Energy, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and Marathon.
