Funds managed by Blackstone and Jay Still formed Guidon in April of 2016 with the intent of building a significant independent shale development company focused on the Midland Basin. Our management team has extensive experience operating in U.S. resource plays and have collectively managed the drilling and completion of thousands of horizontal onshore oil & gas wells while continually implementing new drilling, completion and production technologies.

Guidon currently holds approximately 46,000 gross / 34,000 net acres in the core of the Midland Basin, primarily in Martin County. Since our initial acquisition in 2016, we have established a reputation as a proven consolidator having grown our acreage position more than 50% via 150+ acquisitions and trades. More importantly, we have increased our “drill ready” (1) locations by 600% and now have > 1,200 wells in our “drill ready” inventory.

Guidon is optimally developing our leasehold through manufacturing styled multi-well pads with horizontal laterals ranging from 7500’ to 12,500’. Our centralized facilities are designed to recycle water for reuse and to transport all fluids through pipe which minimizes environment and surface impacts while providing significant cost and operational efficiencies.
