CHS PIPELINES

CHS is a global, Fortune 100 agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the United States. We’re also the nation’s largest cooperative refiner, with refineries located in Laurel, Mont., and McPherson, Kan. that currently have a combined processing capacity of 160,000 barrels a day. CHS taps into more than 2,000 miles of pipeline throughout the United States and Canada to access crude oil for our refineries and safely move product to the marketplace.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, pipelines are the safest and most efficient means of transporting natural gas and petroleum products. In the United States alone, there are more than 185,000 miles of petroleum pipelines and 320,000 miles of natural gas transmission pipelines in use every day. These pipelines transport natural gas, which provides about 24 percent of all the energy used in the United States, and more than 700 million gallons of petroleum products a day to American consumers and businesses.
