Staghorn Petroleum, LLC, is an oil and gas company established in September 2015. 

We currently have operations and leashold in the STACK and Arkoma Basins in Oklahoma.  Our team has experience across multiple basins in the US and we are currently pursuing and evaluating additional PDP acquisitions with drilling upside potential across the US.

Based in Tulsa, Staghorn is a privately held oil and gas company focused on creating value through the strategic pursuit of high-growth and emerging resource plays across North America. Staghorn’s acquire-and-exploit program combines producing and non-producing property acquisitions, grassroots leasing, and farm-ins or joint ventures.

We were established in September 2015 and our initial focus was to assemble a position in the STACK and we began acquiring acreage immediately.  In 2016 we began drilling on our STACK acreage and in January 2017 we sold our eastern position to Chisholm Oil & Gas LLC.  We continued expanding our STACK position and concluded leasing in the Fall of 2017 and began drilling in September 2017.  In May of 2019, Council Oak Resources was merged into Staghorn Petroleum, expanding our position in the STACK and the Arkoma Basin. 

In the STACK play, we currently operate 33 horizontal and 80 vertical wells and have approximately 78,000 net acres of leashold.  Additionally, we have 188 horizontal and 90 vertical wells operated by others across multiple basins and 31,000 net acres in the Arkoma Basin.
