Energyrates.ca is a private Canadian company that offers free and impartial energy-comparison services to residential, commercial and industrial energy consumers. We compare over a hundred energy retailers, products and plans across Canada to find the best deals in electricity and natural gas. Using our rate comparison tool, energy consumers can simply fill in their postal code to compare and find the lowest rates in their region.

In Canada, some energy markets have deregulated, creating competition and giving energy consumers choice in who they select as their electricity or natural gas provider. But it also has created a confusing marketplace with a large number of retailers, plans, products and prices. Comparing plans side-by-side is difficult as each retailer presents their information in a different way and it can be overwhelming and time-consuming to navigate through all the options. In these deregulated markets, Energyrates.ca’s goal is to make it easy for consumers to quickly compare and select the right energy plan at the right price. We do the work for you. We’ll collect information on energy plans and electricity and natural gas prices based on your region and display your options in a consistent way so you can compare plans apples to apples. The choice is in the hands of the energy consumer and there is no obligation to buy.

We are an independent energy comparison resource, not owned by any utility or government agency. We simply offer an unbiased view of current electricity and natural gas plans and pricing so consumers can easily compare their options and make faster, more-informed energy decisions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Energyrates.ca compares energy retailers, plans and prices and presents multiple options to energy consumers based on their region. We take the hassle out of navigating the complex energy market. All you need to do is review your options and choose the plan that best works for you! We will connect you directly with the retailer to sign up. Energy consumers do not sign contracts with Energyrates.ca. All agreements are signed directly with the chosen energy retailer.

HOW WE MAKE MONEY

Energyrates.ca is a 100% free service for residential, commercial and industrial energy consumers. There are no fees and no obligations for users of our site. We are a for-profit company, however, so how do we make money? We have established relationships with energy retailers and they provide us a fee to list their products or when a consumer signs up with them from our site. None of these fees are passed on to the consumer. We do not mark-up rates. The plans shown on Energyrates.ca are identical to those offered directly by retailers, and pricing is always the lowest advertised publicly available retail rates. The only exception is that sometimes we are able to offer exclusive lower pricing than the publicly-advertising rate so consumers can save even more using Energyrates.ca.
