Lozier Heating and Cooling was founded as a tin shop in 1906, and since then has grown to become one of the premier and most reputable heating and cooling contractors in central Iowa. Lozier continues to provide outstanding service and replacement of existing equipment, along with new installations. We enjoy a 98 percent approval rating from our customers.

In 1997, long-time employees Thomas R. Gumm and Gary Pennington (whose tenures began in 1980 and 1991, respectively) became partners with Bill Lozier. Since then, both Bill and Tom have retired (in 2000 and 2019, respectively).  Jon Edelen joined the company in 1993 and became a partner in 2006. Together, Gary and Jon continue to guide the company as its leaders, ushering in the next generation of technology, service and customer care for their customers.

Lozier Heating and Cooling has received numerous awards, including the Lennox Circle of Excellence Award every year since 1999. This honor named us one of the top 65 dealers in North America.   Lennox also presented us with the Dave Lennox Award in 2005, recognizing our position as one of the top 20 dealers out of the 7,000 in North America. The nice thing about geothermal heating and cooling is that you’re constantly utilizing what is already available to you and you don’t have to worry about a variety of different fuel costs depending on the type of system you have. • Durability. The source for your heating and cooling needs is stored solar energy that is underground, which means it’s not going anywhere. The system is set up so that it takes the heat or the cold and transfers it to your home. Of course, it’s more complex than that, but your indoor air handler then sends that heated or cooled air throughout your home. Plus, the system is sheltered underground, shielding it from the elements, boosting its lifespan, reliability and dependability.
• Quiet operation. Due to the fact that the majority of a geothermal system is housed underground, your air handler is the only part of the system that you would hear. However, the motors on the air handlers are remarkably quiet and it’s more likely that you won’t even notice them operating.
