Combined with our in-house truck fleet and our real-time inventory management system, we replenish inventory to each branch frequently.   The Larson Company’s easy-to-use B2B ordering site, rightfully named Efficiency, makes it easy for our customers to order what they need when it is convenient for them. Customers can also find account statements, order history, pricing and branch inventory at their fingertips. Efficiency also offers template capabilities and saves the top 100 items ordered for quick repeat orders.   Our commitment doesn’t stop there. Each of our locations offers educational training classes in the spring and fall each year, touching on topics ranging from troubleshooting service issues to teaching our customers how to improve selling skills, profitability, and industry expertise.

Our History

 Our founder, Gus Larson, emigrated alone at the age of 16 from his home in Gothenburg, Sweden in the early 1900s. While working as a refrigeration mechanic in Chicago, he saw the need for local refrigeration parts depots. He founded the Gustave A. Larson Company as a refrigeration parts jobber in 1936 at a small storefront in Madison, Wisconsin.   1936-first-store-madison.jpg  As the company and Gus’s passion to influence the industry flourished, he quickly opened up branches throughout the state of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Appleton, Green Bay, Wausau, and Eau Claire, as well as Rockford, Illinois. By the early 1960s, he was operating 20 locations in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Florida.   Even though the business has gone through many changes since the 1960’s, the Larson Company is still family owned and operated, and has grown to be the Midwest’s leading wholesale distributor of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) equipment, parts and supplies.
