Tropic Petroleum

Tropic Petroleum (Tropic) has been distributing fuel in North Queensland since the Company’s incorporation in 1968.  Wholly owned by the Regan family for over 30 years, Tropic is the only independent family owned petroleum distribution company based in Townsville.  In October 2015 Tropic expanded the area we service through the acquisition of depots in Cairns and Longreach.  This allows us to provide the same great level of service to the whole of North Queensland. Being local means that Tropic conducts all its business in North Queensland, unlike other fuel companies that are either based overseas or down south.  Tropic is the authorized Caltex Distributor for North Queensland and as such we have guaranteed supply of high quality fuels and lubricants. We are also in the downstream petroleum market, operating Caltex service stations throughout North Queensland.  With respect to our commitment to delivery of product, our fleet of vehicles have been delivering fuels for over half a century to North Queenslanders.  We GO THE DISTANCE to ensure our customers never run out of fuel.  Our Townsville depot is located at the Townsville Port next to the Caltex fuel terminal which ensures efficient loading and delivery of product. We also have fuel depots in Cairns, Winton and Longreach. This allows us to (proudly) market to northern and western Queensland in an area bounded by Bamaga to the north, Bowen and Longreach to the south, out west to Mt Isa and beyond into the Northern Territory.   Tropic prides itself on living and breathing the local business community and we know that reliability in the supply of your fuels and lubricants is vital for business efficacy, especially in North Queensland. We supply products directly to customers located throughout North Queensland on time every time.  Tropic employs over 160 North Queenslanders, with staff based in Townsville, Bowen, Charters Towers, Ayr, Cooktown, Winton, Longreach, Cairns and Malanda.  Tropic is proud to truly be able to call itself a local business and is also proud to support the local community and local business.
