TLS Hydro Power, a member of the TLS Energy Group, which also includes Tradelink Solutions, was established in 1999. Over the course of the past 19 years the company has developed a total of 10 hydropower schemes - either completely from scratch or by renovating projects that had fallen into disrepair. It retains a majority shareholding in most of the schemes it has developed and continues to be responsible for the day to day operations of its projects.

The company is a specialist, not only in the development and construction of new hydro power schemes, but also in the renovation of older sites which are no longer operational. Three of the company's sites are old hydro power sites which had fallen into disrepair and were redeveloped by TLS Hydro Power. This strategy ties in with the company's aim of minimising environmental impact as it grows its renewable energy generating capacity.
