Adirondack Energy & Propane

We are a company dedicated to providing SERVICE AT ITS PEAK and we have been that way from the day we began in December 1988. Our company has experienced significant growth over the years. We began as a very small oil company with one truck delivering heating oil to homes in Malone. Shortly thereafter, we were awarded an Exxon Mobil distributorship, which allowed us to provide our customers with over 125 years of experience in the petroleum industry. We continued to expand our business and grow when we began to distribute Propane to our customers. In fall of 2006, we expanded our service area by opening a new environmentally friendly storage facility, showroom and office complex in Plattsburgh NY, allowing us to service customers in Clinton and Essex County.    Although through the years our company has experienced significant growth, one thing has remained the same, our dedication to our customers.

Adirondack Energy had its foundation in 1988, but it did not actually get moving with any earnest until the three Monette brothers came together in 1993. Adirondack Energy Products, Inc. was the first entity the brothers created and has been the standard bearer for all the business to follow.  The goal of the Adirondack Family of Businesses is to give back to the area that has been good to our families, our businesses, and our employees' families.  With this in mind, Adirondack Energy expanded our portfolio with  Mobil-branded convenience stores,  Mountain Mart Stores, which display the same amount of commitment to customer service as Adirondack. The stores are not just locally owned, but locally operated as well across three counties.  In 2010 the Monettes partnered with two other local families to open the Holiday Inn Express & Suites while also adding a family restaurant, Mo's Pub & Grill. The two businesses together employ over 40 people.  In 2011, Titus Mountain Family Ski Center went up for sale as the Minnesota-based owner passed away. A winter staple for the community, Titus Mountain was added to the Family of Businesses and has become a winter destination for more families in the area as well as across the region. In 2017, Titus Mountain was voted the #1 Family Friendly Ski Resort in North America. Alongside skiing, Titus Mountain hosts many summer events and weddings as well as Titus Mountain Sand and Gravel. In  2013, Titus Mountain resurrected the maple sugaring business that tapped into the vast sugar bush on the slopes and began Moon Valley Maple where maple syrup is locally collected, boiled, and bottled.  Adirondack Powersports opened in 2012 to offer local parts, service, and sales for a favorite past time of the area: recreational power sports including snowmobiles, personal watercraft, ATV and UTVs, and RV camping.  In 2014, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill became an idea to bring more dining options to the area in a fun, family-friendly way. In 2015 it became a reality with the opening of the Malone DQ. Each year the Dairy Queen participates in Miracle Treat Day which helps support the local Children's Miracle Network. ​ We try to focus on the younger members of our community as much as possible; Adirondack for Kids is a proprietary charity started by the Family of Businesses to support youth organizations in the communities where we live, work, and play.  At the end of the day, The Adirondack Family of Businesses strives to be  good stewards of the community and work in any way possible to enhance the quality of life in the North Country.
