SmartHouse Heating and Cooling was originally founded and operated under the name “Home Green Home” in St. Louis, with a vision to become the area’s industry leader in home efficiency.   We started by providing professional home energy audits and home energy improvements such as insulating, air sealing, and high performance heating & cooling system installation. Our multidisciplinary team, consisting of licensed heating and cooling technicians, certified building performance analysts, envelope & shell experts, nationally certified energy raters, and LEED APs, was the “go-to” source for homeowners, architects and builders across St. Louis.  However, it soon became clear that our friends, families, and neighbors were being underserved in their day-to-day needs related to heating, cooling, and insulation. We saw our customers being subjected to questionable sales tactics and falling victim to ill-conceived recommendations. Advances in technology were being ignored. Even basics such as quality craftsmanship were in short supply.
