PGNiG Upstream Norway AS

PGNiG Upstream Norway AS is an oil and gas company with the head office located in Sandnes, Norway. The sole owner is Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA, which is the largest exploration and production company in Poland. PGNiG is the leader in the natural gas industry in Poland, responsible for maintaining energy security in the country. It is has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2005, with the Polish State Treasury as the main shareholder.

The most important strategic objective of PGNiG Upstream Norway is securing uninterrupted gas and oil supplies for the PGNiG Group, which we are a part of. We believe that this goal can be achieved through stable and diversified hydrocarbon production from the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The acquired hydrocarbons will be transported to Poland using the Baltic Pipe.

The company was established in 2007 and through the series of successful investments and acquisitions it grew to become recognized player on NCS. PGNiG Upstream Norway was ranked as fourteenth largest hydrocarbon producer on the NCS in 2020. Currently the company employs close to forty experienced professionals from all around the globe. So far we have participated in the drilling of more than fifty exploration and production wells. This has led to significant oil and gas discoveries on the NCS, including the Ærfugl, Shrek and Warka fields. In addition, we have taken part in over ten licensing rounds and have been awarded more than twenty production licenses.
