MONTREAL (Oil Monster): Howard Energy Partners is expanding its position in Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin with an agreement to acquire Iron Horse Midstream, continuing a series of investments that have rapidly increased the company's presence in the U.S. Midcontinent.
The acquisition includes approximately 400 miles of high- and low-pressure natural gas pipelines, multiple compressor stations and a 120-acre gas-processing complex with capacity of 425 million cubic feet per day.
The assets are supported by multidecade customer agreements covering approximately 167,000 dedicated acres.

HEP Builds Larger Oklahoma Gas Platform
Iron Horse will complement Howard Energy Partners' existing Midcontinent assets, including the Midship Pipeline and Superior Midstream.
HEP acquired full ownership of the approximately 200-mile Midship Pipeline earlier this year and also purchased Superior Midstream, which operates natural gas gathering and processing infrastructure across Oklahoma, Kansas, the Texas Panhandle and East Texas.
After the Iron Horse transaction closes, HEP says its Oklahoma footprint will include nearly 2,000 miles of pipelines, approximately 2 billion cubic feet per day of capacity, 580 MMcf/d of natural gas processing capacity and 540,000 horsepower of compression.
The company said its Midcontinent-focused acquisitions over the past two years will total approximately $2.5 billion following the Iron Horse purchase.
Gas Network Targets Gulf Coast Demand
HEP said the expanded system will improve connections between Anadarko Basin production and growing natural gas demand across Oklahoma, Texas and the Gulf Coast.
The company specifically identified LNG export facilities, industrial users, power generation and emerging data-center developments as important downstream markets.
OilMonster Market Lens
The acquisition is another sign that U.S. midstream investment is following natural gas demand toward the Gulf Coast.
Rather than adding production itself, Iron Horse gives HEP more gathering, processing and transportation infrastructure to connect Anadarko Basin gas with LNG exports, power generation and other growing demand centers.
Deal Expected to Close by Year-End
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and applicable regulatory approvals.
Howard Energy Partners did not disclose the purchase price.
Herbie Goldstein, HEP's chief financial officer and head of corporate development, said the company sees long-term opportunity in the Anadarko Basin and intends to further develop the infrastructure connecting the region with major natural gas markets.
The Bottom Line
Iron Horse adds another gathering and processing system to HEP's rapidly growing Midcontinent platform and strengthens its position between Oklahoma gas production and expanding Gulf Coast demand.
The next milestone will be completion of the acquisition before year-end and how HEP integrates Iron Horse with Midship and Superior Midstream.
