SEATTLE (Oil Monster): The United Arab Emirates is exploring another route for crude oil exports following persistent disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz. The move is part of country’s attempts to intensify efforts to diversify its energy transportation network.

According to a Bloomberg report, Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) is reportedly considering a pipeline connecting the UAE’s western coast with Fujairah on the eastern coast. The proposed line would be capable to accommodate third-party shipments, potentially providing additional access to export infrastructure for regional oil producers. Meanwhile, ADNOC described the report as inaccurate and speculative.

The project would complement an existing pipeline and another connection expected to begin operations next year. Together, the infrastructure could help maintain crude deliveries to international customers if shipping through Hormuz faces further interruptions.

Bloomberg reported that ADNOC has discussed the proposed pipeline with Asian customers. Some refiners were reportedly told they could collect crude delivered to Fujairah through the link in early 2027.

The UAE is also pursuing broader investments in eastern-coast ports and transportation infrastructure. Plans include expanding port capacity and developing pipelines, railways and roads to ensure uninterrupted export trade.
