Founded in 2014, Emrgy Inc. is a transformational technology company that is redefining hydropower to remain the worlds most reliable, continuous, and cost-effective renewable energy resource in an energy economy shifting to distributed, intermittent renewables.

Emrgy designs and deploys modular, scalable hydroelectric solutions without the need for construction or dams. Compared to intermittent solutions like solar and wind, the controllable nature of these waterways enable higher capacity factors, do not require adjacent technologies such as storage, and ultimately deliver quicker and greater value to the customer. While in-canal hydro market potential has not been adequately quantified to date, the US market conservatively represents >6GW of undeveloped potential. Emrgy has developed a proprietary, global resource assessment tool to better characterize and quantify the vast, immediately available in-conduit hydroelectric potential.  Emrgs turbine arrays empower our customers to monetize the energy content of their existing waterway asset that is otherwise ignored. We partnered with the City of Atlanta & Southern Company to showcase technological capabilities of the product in 2016, and in 2017 the Company partnered with Denver Water & The Bureau of Reclamation to install the first array of distributed hydropower in the United States.  

A New Approach to Hydro

Unlike conventional hydropower which requires gravity drop and head pressure for effective operation, Emrgys technology optimizes only on the kinetic energy or velocity of the volume of water flowing through a channel.

Thanks to our proprietary design in the turbines and drive train, Emrgys cost-effective technology compares favorably to solar or wind kilowatt hour pricing because of the inherently higher capacity factors associated with water conveyance project sites.

We empower customers to monetize previously unrealized energy assets – without anchoring or modification to their existing infrastructure. The entire system is removable by use of crane or forklift for simplified operations and maintenance strategies.

The modular, flexible system can be quickly deployed, and units can be added over time as the development and demand for a given site increases. This allows us to scale a system that is customized for your specific power needs.
