Hydro Tech Inc. was founded and incorporated in 2001 in Ontario, Canada with the goal to provide innovative engineering, maintenance and construction solutions to the hydropower industry.  Hydro Tech specializes in service, repair and retrofitting of North American hydroelectric generator stations and engineering services in support of all aspects of hydropower from conception to production.  Our committment to quality and safety is evidenced by our excellent success rate and the increased profitability of our customers’ installations.  Hydro Tech’s innovative bearing solutions are supplied for medium to large hydroelectric generating companies and for marine propulsion.

Our bearing designs were born of a hydro industry need for replacement thrust bearings that could handle increased load resulting from turbine upgrades and replacements.When the Volta River Authority (VRA) in Ghana, Africa was seeking a solution to a unique and recurring cavitation problem that seemed unresolvable, Hydro Tech provided the solution and designed a bearing that included the world’s largest segmented keyed runner plate.  Hydro Tech applies this same expertise and dedication to providing solutions for all of our clients’ mechanical and technical issues.
