Chevron’s Ballymore Project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico to Deliver Offshore Oil

SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Several hundreds of workers under the leadership of Mariela Moreno, Ballymore shared services manager, are reportedly engaged in finish line works at Chevron’s Ballymore Project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The subsea tieback project to the existing Blind Faith facility operated by Chevron, is likely deliver more than 150 million barrels of oil-equivalent through its life span.

The press release issued by the company noted that the production is expected to help meet energy demand from the region. Once completed, Ballymore is likely to add up to 750,000 barrels per day of crude oil production in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico deep waters after its anticipated completion next year.

The project had obtained initial approval in May 2022. The works attained an important milestone with the installation of two new Ballymore modules- the vapor recovery unit and utility electrical building on the Blind Faith facility. Chevron took more than a year of planning to complete the safe and seamless execution of the installation process.

According to Moreno, the project has been an exercise in discipline. The installations required significant engineering as well as high levels of collaboration with contractors, operations, fabricators, support vessels and the entire Ballymore team, she added.
