INPEX Browse E&P Pty Ltd will be the operator and will hold 100% working interest in the title.
The Block, covering approximately 920 square kilometres, is located off the northern coast of Western Australia. As per the title obligations, the company will now pursue exploration activities. The awarded block is adjacent to the AC/RL7 Retention Lease, in which INPEX has 74% participating interest. This makes the new block a promising exploration area for the company.
The company aims to achieve stable supply of clean energy by implementing a shift to natural gas and by carrying out an integrated plan for decarbonzation.
The proximity of the new exploration permit to the Ichthys Gas-condensate Field promises to generate significant benefits. A success in the permit could further enhance the project’s resilience.
