SEATTLE (Oil Monster):YPF and the government of Argentina’s Province of Río Negro have signed a landmark framework agreement to establish a regulatory and institutional cooperation structure for advancing the Argentina LNG project, a strategic initiative aimed at boosting energy exports and economic growth. The agreement was signed by YPF President and CEO Horacio Marín and Río Negro Governor Alberto Weretilneck.

Marín said the framework marks a critical step in positioning Argentina as a reliable global energy supplier, while also driving long-term investment and generating high-quality employment opportunities. He noted that the project is expected to strengthen the country’s energy value chain and enhance its competitiveness in international LNG markets.

Under the agreement, the project will benefit from 30 years of fiscal and regulatory stability, aligned with the Large-Scale Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), providing long-term predictability for investors. It also sets out clear non-tax regulatory conditions to support efficient project execution within the province.

Governor Weretilneck highlighted the project’s role in transforming Río Negro’s productive matrix, fostering sustainable development and job creation.

The agreement also introduces a Technical and Professional Training Program, jointly promoted by YPF, partner companies, Fundación YPF, and local educational institutions.
