SEATTLE (Oil Monster): A fire broke out late Monday at the Port Arthur refinery operated by Valero Energy Corporation in Texas, according to local media reports. The facility, which has a processing capacity of approximately 380,000 barrels per day, is one of the largest and most strategically significant refineries along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Emergency responders acted quickly to contain the blaze, and officials confirmed that no injuries were reported. Zena Stephens stated that there were no casualties linked to the incident. Preliminary assessments indicate the fire may have originated from an industrial heater within the refinery complex, though a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the exact cause and assess any operational impact.

The refinery is located about 90 miles east of Houston, a key hub in the U.S. energy and petrochemical network. The site is highly integrated with transportation infrastructure, receiving crude oil through pipelines, rail systems, and marine terminals, while distributing refined products such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel to both domestic and international markets.
Additionally, the complex is linked to the Diamond Green Diesel facility, a renewable fuels venture with Darling Ingredients Inc., supporting lower-carbon fuel production.
