SEATTLE (Oil Monster): According to senior officials belonging to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Kuwait expects to recover nearly 70% of its oil production within six to eight weeks after resumption of normal shipping operations through the Strait of Hormuz. It must be noted that major disruptions in the region has been badly affecting global energy trade for several months now.

The optimistic view was expressed by KPC Managing Director for International Marketing Shaikh Khaled Ahmad Al-Sabah while speaking at the recently held S&P Global Energy Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference. Furthermore, he added that the remaining 30% of production capacity could be restored approximately one month later.

Kuwait also expects its refinery operations to return to normal within two to three weeks after disruptions end. The country currently operates a refining capacity of around 1.4 million barrels per day.

In the meantime, other market participants foresee a longer timeline for recovery. Earlier, ADNOC stated that shipping activities are unlikely to fully return to pre-crisis levels until mid-2027. Meanwhile, the International Energy Agency (IEA) projects a recovery period of six to eight months under a favorable scenario.
