SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Kazakhstan has strongly criticized reported drone attacks on oil tankers operating through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) export route in the Black Sea. It described the incidents as a threat to the country's economic interests and the stability of international energy markets.
According to Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, vessels transporting crude oil through CPC infrastructure were reportedly targeted on July 17 and July 19. The government said the attacks caused fire, endangered civilian shipping operations and disrupted an important export corridor used to deliver Kazakh crude to global markets.

The country called for immediate steps to ensure the safety of oil export infrastructure. It urged international partners to condemn attacks on civilian maritime assets. Kazakhstan added that it is evaluating the impact of the incidents and may consider legal options, including compensation claims, if necessary.
Meanwhile, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported that a drone strike near its Black Sea terminal close to Novorossiysk temporarily halted oil loading operations. The company said several tankers were affected. However, no injuries or oil spills were reported.
Kazakhstan called for solid practical measures to prevent similar attacks. It must be noted that Ukraine is yet to comment on the incidents.
