SEATTLE (Oil Monster): Saipem has completed the installation of the main production platform for the Neptun Deep natural gas project in Romania's Black Sea waters. The installation represents an important milestone in Europe's ongoing offshore energy development projects.
The Neptun Deep project, jointly developed by OMV Petrom and Romgaz, is expected to play a key role in increasing Europe's natural gas supply while reducing dependence on external energy sources.

Under the terms of the contract, Saipem is responsible for engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of the offshore production platform. The work also includes subsea infrastructure for the Domino and Pelican gas fields and the installation of a 160-kilometre offshore pipeline linking the platform to Romania's coastline.
The offshore installation phase comprised the deployment of a 7,500-tonne jacket structure followed by a 9,000-tonne topside module. The fully automated platform will remotely process natural gas before transporting it through the newly installed offshore pipeline, authorities noted.
The project is expected to strengthen Europe's energy security by supporting diversified and reliable natural gas supplies.
